Driver’s micro-sleep led to crash

FATIGUE was behind a crash on the Capricorn Highway in April, which saw two trucks nearly collide head-on. The driver of one of the vehicles, Mirjana Veljanoska, faced Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with driving without due care and attention. On April 10 at 6.30am, Veljanoska had been driving on the Capricorn Hwy when fatigue began to take over. The court heard she had been driving since 1am from Airlie Beach.
